January 05, 2015: Northrop Grumman Corporation has announced the appointment of Kevin Mitchell as vice president of global supply chain in its Aerospace Systems sector, effective immediately, replacing Lisa Kohl, who has announced her retirement from the company.

"Kevin has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of global supply chain – from business management, to supplier management and production of large scale military products," stated Tommy Tomlinson, vice president, global operations, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. "His commitment to quality, affordability and planning are critical to taking our global supply chain operations to the next level."

In his new role, Mitchell is responsible for developing and maintaining a strong supply base for the broad set of products produced for Aerospace Systems customers. The global supply chain organization comprises subcontracts, procurement, pricing and estimating, transportation, kitting and production support.

Mitchell joined Northrop Grumman in 2003 and has held a number of positions with increasing management responsibilities.

Prior to this appointment, Mitchell was the vice president of production operations and the El Segundo site manager. Mitchell was also responsible for remote site locations, such as Moss Point, Mississippi, New Town, North Dakota, and global manufacturing in San Diego and Redondo Beach. He was responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality, affordable products and services such as the F/A-18E/F/G Super Hornet aircraft; Global Hawk and Triton high altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft; Fire Scout unmanned helicopter, and operations in composites; advanced paint and coatings, and fabrication.

Mitchell earned a bachelor's degree in business and a master of business administration degree in global business from the University of Phoenix. He has also completed the Harvard Business School executive program in Creating Corporate Advantage and he earned a Six Sigma Green Belt from UCLA.
