Air Marshal C Hari Kumar VM VSM takes over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Air Command
September 1, 2015: Air Marshal C Hari Kumar VM VSM takes over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command on September 1, 2015. On assuming Command, he was presented with a Ceremonial Guard of Honour by the Air Warriors of Headquarters Eastern Air Command.
A Fighter Combat Leader and a Qualified Flying Instructor, Air Marshal C Hari Kumar was commissioned in the Fighter Stream on 14 Dec 1979.
The Air Marshal has held various important field and staff appointments during his distinguished service career spanning over 36 years. Prior to taking over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, he was Senior Air Staff Officer, South Western Air Command.
For his distinguished service to the Nation, he has been decorated with the Presidential awards of Vayu Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal.
He is married to Mrs. Devika who assumed the charge of President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) on 01 Sep 15 at an official Ceremony held at Headquarters Eastern Air Command, Shillong.
