The New Year brings new additional flight routes for SpiceJet
Beginning from February 2020, the new flights are to strengthen SpiceJet's network across Western and Southern India.
India's budget carrier, SpiceJet announced the launch of eight new international and domestic flights on Friday, January 3. Scheduled to commence operation in February 2020, the newly introduced flights are envisioned to strengthen the airline's network across Western and Southern India, the airline mentioned in a press release.
Daily flights have been initiated on the Ahmedabad- Hyderabad route. The airline has also enhanced its operations with additional frequencies on sectors like Bengaluru – Chennai – Bengaluru (sixth frequency), Bengaluru – Vijayawada – Bengaluru (fourth frequency), SpiceJethighlighted in the release. These flights are to be operated on an everyday basis except on Tuesdays.
With the introduction of a non-stop flight on the Ahmedabad-Jeddah-Ahmedabad route, SpiceJet hopes that Ahmedabad's international air connectivity will get a major boost.
SpiceJet is also the first Indian airline to offer direct connectivity between Ahmedabad and Jeddah. Known as Saudi Arabia's commercial capital, Jeddah is also a key transit point for thousands of Hajj pilgrims visiting Mecca and Medina. With the introduction of a non-stop flight on the Ahmedabad-Jeddah-Ahmedabad route, SpiceJet hopes that Ahmedabad's international air connectivity will get a major boost. The flight will be effective from February 20, 2020.
A mix of 90-seater Bombardier Q400 aircraft and 189-seater Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be used to service the routes.

At present, the Gurugram-based airline operates 630 flights per day to 64 destinationson an average, including 10 international ones with a fleet of 114 passenger planes, comprising 82 Boeing 737s and 32 Bombardier Q-400s.
Bookings are now open on www.spicejet.com, SpiceJet's mobile app as well as through online travel portals and travel agents.
