Duncan Aviation recently completed a sophisticated paint and interior refurbishment project on a Gulfstream G650 at its full-service facility in Provo, Utah. The project combined a sleek new exterior paint scheme with a thoughtfully refreshed interior that highlights the aircraft's rare woodwork while modernizing other elements of the cabin.
The G650's new paint features a refined gray belly accented with bold red striping, chosen to reflect the owners' personal ties to his Alma Mater. The colors were matched directly to official Pantone shades, creating a clean and distinctive finish. The result is a striking livery that balances elegance with individuality.
Inside the aircraft, Duncan Aviation's Design team led by Senior Lead Designer Molly Pfeiffer delivered a comprehensive refresh while preserving the original wood, upper sidewalls, and countertops.
"The owners had just purchased the aircraft and wanted to update the look without losing what they loved most: the unique Plane Sawn Burl wood," said Pfeiffer. "It is rare to see this type of burl in an aircraft, and the owners' decision to keep it gave us a beautiful focal point to design around."
To complement the warmth of the wood, the design focused on a transitional style that seamlessly blends traditional and modern elements, creating a serene environment ideal for long flights. The seats were reimagined with lighter neutral leather and delicate detailing, giving them a fresh, contemporary presence. Contrasting pulls and rose-gold replated accents add refinement and tie in with the existing hardware. The divan was upholstered in a rich, heathered wool to create a grounding focal point at the rear of the cabin. The lower sidewalls were finished in a textured fabric that blends seamlessly with the carpet and adds depth to the overall design.
The flooring in the entry, galley, and lavatory areas was replaced with woven vinyl that offers greater durability while contributing to a warm, residential feel and visually breaking up the space. The carpet, inspired by a luxury wool rug, features a subtle, textured pattern that adds an understated elegance to the cabin. In the lavatory, a newly upholstered seat and powder-coated trim blend with the surrounding carpet and flooring, creating a cohesive look.
The overall palette emphasizes neutral, tone-on-tone shades that lighten the cabin without overpowering the natural richness of the wood. This balance ensures the space feels sleek and timeless while rose-gold accents and thoughtfully chosen fabrics provide understated sophistication.
