Duncan Aviation Delivers Elegant Falcon 900EX Refurbishment

When Duncan Aviation refurbished this Falcon 900EX, the transformation included two, key Duncan Aviation-designed upgrades: custom PSU overlay panels and a drinkrail modernization. Also included was Duncan Aviation's Finishing Touches hardware package to provide a striking, harmonious look throughout.

Duncan Aviation recently completed a stunning interior and exterior refurbishment on a Falcon 900EX at its full-service facility in Lincoln, Nebraska. The project, which transformed the aircraft from nose to tail, drew inspiration from the owner's brand-new Gulfstream and showcases Duncan Aviation's hallmark attention to detail and quality. The result of the transformation is a completely refreshed interior that feels refined, and sophisticated, with a sleek, clean, and timeless design.

Inspired by a Gulfstream Aesthetic

The aircraft's exterior design was based on the owner's new Gulfstream, with the Duncan Aviation Paint team carefully adapting the scheme to complement the Falcon's distinctive fuselage lines.

"The paint design mirrors the Gulfstream, but with accommodations for the Falcon body and shape," said Duncan Aviation Senior Completions & Modifications Sales Rep Tracey Boesch. "The result is a cohesive fleet look that connects both aircraft visually."

A Calm, Refined Interior Transformation

Inside, Senior Lead Designer Stephanie Kuhn and Assistant Designer Lauren Burkhardt worked closely with the owner's representatives to bring the same aesthetics from the Gulfstream into the Falcon.

"The Gulfstream featured bold diamond quilting on the seats and sharp contrasts," said Kuhn. "For the Falcon, the owner wanted a softer, more harmonious feel."

The new 100% wool carpet in a saturated beige tone serves as the foundation for the space, while the custom seat design—crafted with a rich cream leather, striking black welt cord, and a subtle organic soft-edge diamond stitch that mimics the subtle organic movement in the carpet—adds depth and visual interest. The all-new seats include recliner leg rests and flex-wing headrests, providing both comfort and the latest features. The inlays were removed, and the drinkrails were redesigned for a cleaner, more modern appearance.

Elegant Details and Thoughtful Materials

The interior features all-new veneer in a warm tone with a linear grain pattern, paired with satin nickel plating throughout for a classy finish.

The team incorporated the Duncan Aviation-designed, one-piece PSU overlay panels and modernized the drinkrails to create an updated look in the cabin that is also functional.

They developed the PSU overlay panels to provide an updated look to the cabin interior and integrated with new up and downwash LED lighting. They also allow for easy removal and installation compared to traditional PSU panels. The new light and air vent recess areas include a radiused design and are covered in the same material as the PSU overlay.

In addition, the team incorporated our new Duncan Aviation Finishing Touches.

"When doing a complete Falcon interior with our two, key Duncan Aviation-designed upgrades, including our Duncan Aviation-designed PSU (Passenger Service Unit) overlay panels and our drinkrail modernization, we provide our Finishing Touches hardware package to complete the interior transformation," said Boesch. "Our Design team has created new handles for the cabin window shades and drinkrails for a harmonious look with the same profile and style throughout the aircraft."

Upper sidewalls were updated with textured Ultraleather to add visual depth, while the lower sidewalls feature rich, hand-tipped leather. The divan and settee were designed to coordinate with the seating—each accented with contrasting black piping. The divan's 100% heathered wool fabric provides softness and warmth, offering a plush retreat in the aft cabin.

The settee, located directly across from the dining and conference area, serves as a natural gathering spot. The conference table can be pulled inboard, filling the gap and creating an elongated table space. This configuration allows those sitting on the settee to comfortably gather for dining, meetings, or games. Visually, the settee ties in beautifully with the conference seating, creating a cohesive and functional space.

The galley countertops were replaced with solid-surface materials that mimic the figuring of stone without the added weight, providing both luxury and practicality.

Modern Technology

In addition to the aesthetic upgrades, the Falcon received a Collins Venue Cabin Management System (CMS), new LED lighting, USB charging ports, FANS upgrades, and cockpit enhancements including CPDLC capability. The Duncan Aviation team also refreshed the entryway with woven black vinyl flooring and a custom logo throw rug.

"The result is an upscale design—one that feels comfortable and classy," said Kuhn "We simplified the space, creating an environment that will look beautiful for years to come."

A Rewarding Collaboration

The project was a collaborative effort across Duncan Aviation's teams, with designers Kuhn and Burkhardt leading the coordination and design direction. Burkhardt joined along in the test flight—a special opportunity to see the project take to the skies.

"Watching it fly was incredible," said Burkhardt. "Interiors look completely different in the air—the colors and materials come to life. It was rewarding to see all the work come together."
