Visiona, a joint venture between Embraer and Telebras, and Agrotools, launched a new parametric insurance solution for climate risk management during the 18th International Congress of the Latin American Association for the Development of Agricultural Insurance (ALASA). The event, held in Brasilia from April 7 to 10, is themed "Protecting the future of Agriculture: Securing Tomorrow."

The solution, developed to be applicable to any insurance company, consists of two layers: one for initial socio-environmental analysis (pre-insurance) and the other for continuous monitoring, acting as the source of information for parametric insurance. These stages, fed by climate data, satellite images, and geospatial analysis, speed up the process of assessing and covering climate risks in rural production.

"The partnership between Agrotools and Visiona represents a new perspective for parametric insurance in Brazil. We have combined our commercial experience in agribusiness with Visiona's technical excellence to deliver a solution to the market that brings intelligence, agility and adaptation, based on objective, real-time data," says Sergio Rocha, CEO of Agrotools.

"Visiona has developed this technology with a focus on high performance and reliability. Now, with the support of Agrotools, we have been able to scale the solution and enhance commercial applicability, expanding its impact on the agricultural sector and the insurance market," says João Paulo Rodrigues Campos, CEO of Visiona.

The solution opens a new chapter in the way rural production is protected. By combining space technology with geographical intelligence and a strategic market approach, the initiative introduces an innovative insurance model that is flexible and ready to be molded according to the reality of each player.
