ST Engineering today announced the next phase of its space programme at the Space Summit@Singapore Airshow 2026, comprising the design and development of satellites in Singapore for the next few years and new geospatial solutions integrated with advanced technologies, contributing new milestones in Singapore's space industry.

New satellites developed in Singapore for diverse missions

ST Engineering is working towards delivery of NEBULA, Singapore's first pathfinder demonstrator for advanced inter-satellite laser communications, in the second half of 2026. NEBULA will be used to test gigabit per second data transfer capabilities that will form the critical foundation for ultra-fast space networks supporting global broadband coverage, Earth observation and secure data exchange.

Four new Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites that make up the NeuSAR-2 Constellation will be launched by 2030, with the first satellite scheduled to be in orbit in 2027. When fully operational in near equatorial Low Earth Orbit, the NeuSAR-2 Constellation will provide high-revisit coverage across the equatorial region, delivering high-resolution imaging to support missions such as environmental monitoring and disaster response planning.

ST Engineering will also commence research and development to build POLARIS, a new optical imaging satellite for real-time Earth observation with next-generation capabilities such as onboard AI processing.

Low Jin Phang, Chief Operating Officer for Defence & Public Security, and President for Digital Systems, ST Engineering, said, "Our space programme is founded on proven engineering excellence and technical innovation, enabling us to develop more advanced SAR and optical imaging satellites in Singapore for a wide range of missions. In addition, our innovative satellite systems and geospatial solutions unveiled today at Space Summit 2026 leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to solve real-world problems for customers worldwide."

Innovative geospatial solutions for space operations and environmental monitoring

At Space Summit 2026, ST Engineering also showcased its latest geospatial solutions integrated with advanced technologies. MiNERVA HUB is a space situational awareness platform that integrates space object tracking, conjunction risk analysis and space weather forecasting, enabling proactive space traffic management and helping satellite operators mitigate collision risks. Earthsurance is a comprehensive assessment and monitoring platform designed to support projects aimed at reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.

Advancing space engineering competencies in Singapore

From advancing next-generation Earth observation satellites and turning geospatial data into actionable insights that support agriculture, maritime safety, environment monitoring and disaster management, ST Engineering's satellite business has been at the forefront of Singapore's space ecosystem for over 20 years. Working with local start-ups and SMEs, ST Engineering's satellite business has contributed to the growth of Singapore's indigenous space engineering competencies. The Group was also recently selected to design and deliver an Earth observation SAR satellite and its mission control infrastructure for a customer in the UAE, underscoring the Group's proven leadership in space technology.

ST Engineering's participation at the Singapore Airshow 2026 comprises its space technology showcase at the Space Summit 2026, booth B02, and the ST Engineering Pavilion (booth G01) at Changi Exhibition Centre, focused on the Group's multi-disciplinary capabilities, technology leadership and engineering excellence across the air, land, sea, digital and emerging domains.
