MTU Aero Engines, Germany's leading engine manufacturer, announced today at ILA Berlin a landmark partnership with VINATech Co. Ltd., a renowned expert in the field of catalyst coated membranes (CCMs) and membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs). The collaboration aims to push the boundaries of fuel cell technology, optimizing it for the unique demands of commercial flight.

"MTU is committed to pioneering sustainable solutions for the aerospace industry", said Barnaby Law, MTU's Chief Engineer Flying Fuel Cell™. "Our partnership with VINATech is a testament to this commitment. Their expertise in CCMs and MEAs is unparalleled, and we are confident that together we will lead the way to a cleaner, greener future for aviation."

Do Kyong Sung, CEO of VINATech, added: "We are thrilled to join forces with MTU. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of a technological revolution in aviation. Our collaboration promises to set new standards for fuel cell performance and reliability."

The partnership is set to enhance MTU's ambitious Flying Fuel Cell™ (FFC) project, which is currently undergoing an extensive test campaign for its 600 kW electric powertrain – one of the most powerful and efficient systems designed for the aviation sector. VINATech will provide their cutting-edge MEAs, which are critical components in the conversion of hydrogen into electricity.
